Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book Revealed!

After much anticipation, Carine Roitfeld has finally released the details of her newest project, CR Fashion Book, an innovative magazine which she describes to WWD as a “celebration of fashion and creativity” from a mix of well-known talents and promising upstarts — referring to the photographers, writers, models and stylists.  Each of the biannual issues will be constructed around a theme such as music or “obsession,” which is rumored to be the focus of the initial 288-page copy, projected to have over 100 pages of advertisements.  The glossy, based in NYC, will be published by Fashion Media Group, LLC, commonly known for Visionaire, and is set to launch for September 2012 retailing for $9.95.  The mag will only carry spreads and long-format articles, no FOB content, and each page will be marked with Roitfeld’s handwritten initials mimicking personal stationary.  “You can’t put yourself into competition with a magazine like Vogue; you have to create something new, something different,” explained the famed Ex-EIC of Vogue Paris.  The most bizarre interesting development-articles will be published in the native language of their author, with an English translation in the back.  We are definitely intrigued and awaiting the outcome.  Good luck CR.
